Hoop Assist Instructions Iron on paper is a must when help is needed to keep fabric from stretching in the hoop. HoopAssist is designed with a polymer rather than glue so it can be repositioned and will not gum up needles or get deposited in the bobbin assembly. Step 1 Place fabric face down on an ironing board. Tear off a sheet of HoopAssist and place shiny side down on the fabric. Step 2 Hot iron the paper to the back of the fabric. If wrinkles are captured in the fabric peel off the paper and reapply (up to 6 times). Step 3 Hoop the fabric (face up), the paper (that is now attached to the fabric), and a piece of stabilizer together in a hoop. Step 4 Embroider now on a completely flat piece of fabric. Upon completion remove the backing and paper. Stray paper will soften in the wash.
