Double Sided Tape Instructions Double-sided tape is the perfect solution for items that can not be hooped or where parts need to be kept out of the way. Unlike sticky backings double- sided tape holds the fabric from the sides so that the needle is not passing through glue. Step 1 Hoop a piece of stabilizer in a hoop large enough to fit the design plus a half inch to one inch margin. Step 2 Place strips of tape around the parameter of the design area leaving some space between the tape and where the design will sew. Step 3 Scratch the top to the tape to loosen the plastic film. Remove the fill from all pieces of the tape. Step 4 Position fabric and press down on edges to stick to tape (reposition if necessary). After sewing remove the backing with tape.
